and Zeze Station, Omi Beef Kanekichi is a historic Omi beef specialty restaurant established in 1897.
A brand of beef native to Shiga Prefecture,
Omi beef is known for the sophisticated sweetness of its fat and its rich umami flavor.
At our restaurant, you can enjoy this meat in either shabu-shabu or jun-jun (sukiyaki) style.
We also have a vast selection of locally brewed sake, so please consider pairing them with the beef.

Our signature sukiyaki dish ”Jun jun”

Our signature sukiyaki dish, jun-jun, was named after the sound of meat sizzling on a pan. Flavored with soy sauce and sugar, this dish allows you to enjoy the umami of Omi beef in its simplest form.
